Mountain Fried Chicken Akron Dr. Located in what used to be an old Hardee's building is Mountain Fried Chicken. The building itself is definitely starting to look a little rough around the edges. There is plenty of parking in their private lot, and It also has seen some better days. Inside its the same thing. A little tarnished from years of service.
The food is still good. Fried chicken is some good stuff. Like others have said its not quite award winning, but considering all things, this is still a very good option for fried chicken. Its solid. Ttheir slogan.. its not greasy. Not overly greasy. Last batch I got from here was piping hot, crispy, good and juicy inside with a nice taste. There is not too much breading on their chicken either, which is a good thing. Good seasoning, without being too much. As sides I get the potato salad, corn, and mac n cheese. All are very good, the mac n cheese has some tomato sauce in it which adds a nice element. The corn is down right awesome, reminds me of home, fresh seasoned country taste. The potato salad is solid. Not the best, but good.
All in all I would recommend this place for your fried chicken craving. Its just off the interstate so you can swing in and be back on the road in no time.

This not mountain chicken. Its a treat for my dogs. They got my order wrong to charge more. The dumplings tasted . They gave us chicken in return like four pieces. Idk...take mountain out of it and call it caca  version kfc I guess. And thats horrible. Bc kfc is gross too. Just sayin.

Go elsewhere 100%...this location is dirty and building is in need of maintenance...bother toilets were non functioning and had no soap. Dead flies line the seats, counter lady was super rude telling me they did not offer the kid's meal clearly on the screen...just meaning that we had to wait 7-10 minutes for Angel wings to cook.  We later 15 minutes got our food ...an absolutely incorrect order.  Disgusting facility, not great at all chicken and super duper rude counter help!!!!

It's NOT Greasy! That's their slogan and it's true! I've been coming here for 25+ years and it's the best fried chicken period! Their wings are their calling card and they are good! They are deep fried with a very light breading. They are served with potato wedges which are my favorite side! Now you can get regular pieces of chicken and a variety of sides to choose from like, greens, green beans, mashed potatoes, baked beans, peach cobbler, and others! The "Moose" is the 15 wings with 8 wedges and will run you about $10. You can go smaller by getting the "Winston" which is 10 wings with 6 wedges for around $8. The have three locations in the Triad, and they are all "Not Greasy"!

It doesn't look like much from outside (well, it actually looks just like an old Burger King or Hardee's), but inside is some very, very good chicken. It's not out of this world or anything, so don't keep your expectations too high - it's just very solid, crispy chicken that's not overly salty. Kinda tastes like "homemade" or something someone would bring to a picnic, if that makes any sense. And like the catchphrase says, it's not greasy! (I mean, of course it's going to be greasy, but it's not TOO greasy).

Also: the potato wedges are really, really good. Breaded in some kind of crispy seasoned flour or something, I'd definitely recommend those. Service is fast, prices are fair, it's definitely worth a stop if you're driving by on the highway.
